We’re changing how returns, exchanges and cancellations work for IKEA Australia. These changes are designed to provide greater peace of mind and flexibility.
What’s changing?
365-day returns: This policy is now only applicable to unopened, unused, and resaleable products. Refund will be to original payment method.
60-day ‘Test & Try’: This policy only applies to selected products. This will allow the opening and full assembly of the IKEA product(s) (packaging needs to be maintained). Returns on these products within 60 days will be credited onto an IKEA Returns card and is subject to product condition assessment before acceptance.
We’ve also updated our policy to include clearer terminology in other existing exchange and cancellation policies (which will continue to operate alongside these major changes above).
Numbering of clauses has also been introduced for easier reference.
These updates come into effect 9 April 2026 and will apply to any purchase that is made on or after this date.
